Job Sharing

Blinkbid enables users to share jobs with other Blinkbid users.  This system is designed to allow collaboration between two more people on the same job.  To share a job choose the Share This Job item under the Sharing menu of any open job.

You'll be prompted for what part of the job you want to share.

After your selection all the information in the Overview window and the estimate or invoice are sent to our secure server.  Upon successful upload you'll be given an access number,

You can copy this sharing code to you clipboard for easy pasting into an email for chat session.  The person you send the sharing access code to can then easily create a new job by clicking on the Import Shared Job button on the create a new job window.  Once the job is created the other person can make changes to your job that you can then update by selecting Get Job Update in the sharing menu.

When you get an update to an estimate Blinkbid imports the changes as an estimate revision.  What this means is that the estimate you have active before the update is stored as a revision and the one you import becomes the active one.  This non destructive management of estimates guarantees that you'll never lose your chain.  Also, usage licenses and job descriptions are all stored as part of the estimate revision.

Once a share session is established between two copies of Blinkbid, you will no longer have to enter the sharing access code.

Parts of the job that get overwritten by importing an update are the client info and invoices.  Once a job is shared it stays active on our server for 72 hours after the last update.  If the no new versions of the job have been uploaded for 72 hours the job is deleted. Since the process of deleting jobs is automated and adheres to our strict privacy guidlines there is no way to recover a shared job.
