The Application Options section of Blinkbid is where you set the global options of Blinkbid.

Start up window: select which window Blinkbid opens when you start the application

Display next to edit in the sidebar: Select the information you would like displayed to indicate the currently active job.

Action when clicking email link: Determines what Blinkbid does when you click on an email link or email button.  

• The default setting is to activate your default email client as determined by your operating system preferences.
• You can also choose to copy the email address to the clipboard for easy pasting into a web based email client.
• The gmail choice will activate your web browser and navigate to gMail.  If you are already logged into gMail. Blinkbid will create a new email for you on your gMail window.
• Choose custom to set up your own url string to activate a web based email client.  Click the email string button in the tool bar to set these settings.  Blinkbid support can aide you in setting this feature up if you agree to donate a small amount of money to a Blinkbid charity.

Job nickname, company and contact colors can be chosen in the next section  These colors apply to any of the list views in Blinkbid.

Blinkbid now enables you to select Fonts for the different parts of your estimate or invoice.  Blinkbid can access any font that is currently installed in your system.  But, in order to keep memory overhead low in Blinkbid, we do not load font menus.  To utilize a font you must spell it exactly (case sensitive) as it is stored in your operating system.  To see your fonts you can use a OS included font utility like Font Book on the MAC.  You can also have a look at a font menu in an application that also accesses fonts like Microsoft Word or any of the Adobe CS suite.

If you want Blinkbid to start up with its default window size and placement tick the check box in front of Forget window position on quit.

The Disable maximize window on start is a Windows operating only feature that allows users to disable Blinkbid from maximizing upon opening.

You know that annoying alert window that tells you about the print preview options in the print preview mode, you can disable that by ticking the Disable print preview help dialog.

Diable info bubbles will trun off the yellow bubbles that pop up when you hover over certain parts of the Blinkbid application.

You can customize how the item catalog opens up when you are adding line items to and estimate or invoice.  The difference between having the window open in a position according to the Blinkbid application versus the monitor window is, if you have a large monitor and Blinkbid only occupies half the height of your monitor, setting the item catalog to open to the height of the monitor will allow you a greater view of all the line items and catagories.

Advanced Settings

Network time out and FTP Time out have to do with the speed of your internet connection.  If you are having trouble sharing jobs because you are connected to a slow connection, experminent with these in 5 second increments.  To set the default, delete the entry and click outside the field.
